I like the timer for the recharge and think it should be implimented for the shields as well. 1 per 1/2 hour or whatever is a good timeframe. 1/15 min. Something like that.

There is a consensus of opinion that they're too powerful, I think, and that if someone has shields and is sat being pounded, it isn't right that they don't get touched. Possibly changing the message from so-and-so "dodged" might help relieve this frustration.

Something that could be tried if do-able is to have some sort of maximum damage your shields can take in a short period of time (like 30 seconds) before they're overcome and fire starts to get through your shields. "The shields cannie take much more, Captain!"

So though they have a maximum life of 2200hp which lasts for up to 30 minutes, if you take 1000 within 30 seconds, you start taking damage. That sort of thing.

I love this idea Thok. Shield can have a max Hp plus a max hp/time drop rate. Sym could estimate how much damage per second an avg player can do. Then he can ask: how many players pounding on a shield should it take to break through? 3? 4? He can set the initial set point for hp /time drop rate accordingly and test

Dodge via shields should say dmg 0. Or how much dmg the shield has taken. But that may clutter the screen too much
