Tutorial Thread

Disclaimer:
“Paraversume” is open beta.

What does that mean?
It means this game will never stop evolving and changes will be made constantly to IMPROVE the in-game experience. Community suggestions and feedback are taken seriously and largely affects campaigns features and additional features that are within reasonable means to acquire for the staff.

General Information:

“Paraversume” is an online MMORPG using location services to orient players at a “home base”
Before logging in, please tap and hold the blue circle at the bottom of the login screen to raise additional options, slide your finger over the separate panels to view possible selections, lift finger to select.
This control method is used for in game controls as well. Your control panel is your best friend, learn its curves.
WHITE player names are used to identify staff members
BLUE player names represent Radical forces
RED player names represent Anarchist forces

Teams:

Radicals
Anarchists
PPA (paraversume protection agency) {NPC’s} Drones have different types, which means varying strength and relative health. Until you are strong enough for high HP targets focus on low health drones, and avoid hitting, MILDREDS> MORDREDS> IGORS without a group or some assistance.
HEED THAT WARNING.
OBJECTS IN GAME:

Nexus: crystal like structures harvested for energy, they appear grey in color, representing neutral control. Nexi can be jumped to with the related command in the control panel labeled “jump”

Turret: turrets are automated defense weapons that automatically fire onto live players once the opposing teams player makes an action in sight of the turret. They do not attack NPC characters, depicted as colored drones in the immediate area surrounding you.

Siphons: created by first tapping a nexus, going to the build screen and tapping the create siphon option. siphons gather energy for your ship and by tapping them and using the DRAIN option you can replenish your energy battery. Takes half an hour to refill. DRAIN option is available on the command panel. You can only drain your own siphons.

Portals: self-explanatory, used to get from place to place. Portals can be used as place markers for various points around the world, and are the primary mode of transportation for single and multi-pilot maneuvers. Portals have a set health and can be destroyed. Using the emergency option available to you on the control panel after tapping and selecting a portal, sends out a call for help to your team to jump in and assist you.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
CONTROLS: The blue circle is your command panel, touch and hold to raise up and options. Slide through them without lifting a finger to see options
JUMP- tap a grey object, or an object made by team mates, or matching team mate colors. This allows you to move to that location. "Leapfrogging" is jumping from player to player to move within areas. Requires some practice but is effective in large scale wars and minor skirmishes.
ATTACK- tapping a drone or enemy pilot and then sliding over this option (and then releasing) launches a single attack. Repeat as desired. As you attack, your yellow bar (energy meter) will deplete. Once empty you will need to return to your siphons drain them to recharge and return to your previous activity.
DRAIN: drains siphons
REPAIR: with nothing selected/heals self with team Mate or object selected restores health/increases objects shields.
RECHARGE: uses credits to instantly fill your energy tank. There is a cool- down. Credits are random drops, and can be purchased as well.
OPTIONS: The tabs on the sides give various sub options. Messaging leads to chats, feed, forums, and messages. This is given the traditional letter icon.
Build tab takes you to creation options, and allows you to destroy your items as well. Depicted with a hammer icon.
Holding the icon instead of sliding brings up quick build. Slide over the item you wish to create and release to construct. There is a limit for each item.
Character tab, allows you to upgrade your ship, and use the XP to upgrade different options on your ship, as explained in those options. Depicted as a gear icon.
The campaign tab shows the campaign for the week, the scores, and other player data. Depicted with the game logo.
The tab at the top of your screen shows the radar and local chat, allowing you to speak to players within view of your ship.
Tapping the radar brings up a portal list, and various ways of displaying them, the last option shows a local map.
The chat tab is used for visual range communication.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

In field view, you can tap on a player and hold down on their drone to bring up an option list related to the player.
This can also be done in chat rooms by repeating the process on player names.

is there a way we can have this sent to new character upon entering the game the first time?
like the message tab highlights and guides them to the inbox where this will be?

Nice thread here, Volk. If you edit later, could you please include some general tips/tricks/ yays and nays for those who have learned the basic controls but are still unsure of what to do in certain situations? Like party ports, mildred solo take downs, and when emergency ports should/should not be used? I think it would help them get into the swing of things, since youre metaphorically thrown to the dogs right from the start.

(Plus, the emergency ports are annoying when theres no reason for them 😁)
